Children in Poverty

More than 31 million children in the United States live in families that are struggling to make ends meet. These challenges and many more are addressed at NCCP (National Center for Children in Poverty) where policies are made and solutions are found to address family economic security, promote strong nurturing families, and healthy child development. http://www.nccp.org/

  1. I like how this website shows the demographics of all the different states as well as what actions are being taken. It is astonishing to see how many families are living below the "Low-Income" levels. It truly does make you take a step back and realize how grateful you are. Hopefully as teachers, we might be able to get creative in our ways of teaching low-income students. Great article/link, Jennifer!
